"Oh my God!" she shouted, jumping away from the open door. The ground was covered in a blanket of glimmering white. Kaia wrinkled her nose distastefully; this was not the landscape she had imagine when her mother had talked about Indiana. It was March, for God's sake! Since when did it snow in March?! Grumbling under her breath, she retreated into the warmth of her house. She frowned as she examined the contents of her closet: tank tops, t-shirts, shorts, and skirts, all of which were absolutely adorable and very flattering on her thin figure. Okay... so maybe mom had been right when she'd advised her to invest in some warmer, less revealing clothing. Kaia gave a frustrated groan. She'd have to settle for her cute, yet completely impractical, outfit of capris and a tank top. Begrudgingly, she pulled on her mom's frumpy old coat; it was better than nothing, ugly as it was. Muttering a curse, she stepped onto the patio, locking and closing the door behind her. Without giving it any thought, Kaia stepped forward and instantly found herself frantically chicken dancing her way off the patio and across the sidewalk. Screaming like an insane person, she leaned to her left, losing what little balance she had, falling unceremoniously face first into the snow. The tiny white crystals stung harshly on her bare skin, prompting her to hatefully kick and batter the surrounding snow. She trudged through the snow, at last finding her was to her car. She went to start it... it was dead. With a defeated sigh, she fell back in her seat, "I hate the cold..."
